Law student and all-around good guy Harper (Tye Sheridan – Mud, The Tree of Life) suspects his stepdad Vincent (Stephen Moyer – “True Blood”) of causing the car crash that landed his mother in a coma. Drowning his sorrows in whiskey Harper ends up drinking with Johnny Ray (Emory Cohen – Brooklyn), a tough redneck who offers to “take care” of Vincent. Fueled by alcohol, Harper agrees. In the cold light of day, Johnny Ray, along with his stripper companion Cherry (Bel Powley – The Diary of a Teenage Girl), is more threatening and he won’t take no for an answer when Harper protests that it was the whiskey talking. Realizing there is no way out, Harper heads to Vegas with his unlikely companions.
